VSL

VSL is coordinator of the project.

VSL has been involved in SSL metrology since 2005 with the construction of specific measurement facilities for the characterisation of single LEDs and later SSL products for in-house lighting, street illumination and other applications like greenhouse and surgeon room lighting. VSL participated in government funded pilot studies on introduced SSL technology in street illumination, determining quality metrics for unambiguous performance evaluation.

Furthermore VSL provided support in setting up Dutch legislation for efficacy measurements and requirements for SSL based office lighting. At present VSL provides traceability to national manufacturers of SSL products along developed high power LED luminous flux transfer standards.
