Technical Research Institute of Sweden SP

SP is the National Metrology Institute of Sweden and one of its duties is to hold and develop the national measurement standards and ensure international traceability. SP holds a variety of test method development facilities and test laboratories mainly for safety, reliability, environmental stress and EMC. For luminaries SP perform light distribution measurement and luminous efficiency calculations. For light sources SP measure light flux and electrical parameters and perform life test analysis. SP also does evaluation and measurement of light environments in buildings and surroundings.

Since 2008, SP runs a project on Light Measurements on LED-based light sources available for consumers. In this EMRP project, SP will participate in the characterisation of products, together with other partners SP will be defining the relevant parameters and determining the accuracy of the measurements.
